Ten Things of Thankful 12/07/2015 #10Thankful

My kids...I'm always thankful for my kids...
they keep me heading one step in the light direction
(No matter how dark the days get)

The piggy & the pooch
He (the piggy) is the love of my life...
She (the pooch) likes to think she is ;)
Both bring me comfort, and joy

Windmills...I like windmills I do :)
Beautiful, bright, blowy, dancing, cheerer uppers

Clouds...Oh, God...Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for the clouds.
and, Thank you Nan...for the cloud memories x

I'm always grateful for this awesomeness...
and it's only ten minutes from home... BOOM!  :O)

Coffee...  enough said :o)

These are special Lillies... they're Dads Lillies
They flowered this week
Just when I needed them most... Thank you Dad x

A gift from a friend
As with the Lillies...just when I needed it most
Thanks Shan x

My Garden...I'm so, so thankful for my garden.
A beautiful, flowery, comforting, Dad filled... HUG.

Number 10...Last, but by no means least... My friends (You all know who you are)

Losing my Dad has been the hardest thing (to date) Iv'e ever had to bear, and you, my friends, have been a Godsend...your kindness, friendship, and compassion has helped me (is helping me) to muddle through it. I don't know how I'd have got through this past two months without you all.

Thank you!

You light up my life.

Well, that's it, my first 'Ten Things of Thankful... Not as wordy as my usual rambles (I'm struggling) but the blessings are counted...and that's what counts...right? :o)

Thank you for allowing me to share

God bless you, and all those you love

Kimmie x

    1. Thanks Vanessa... The fuchsias are my favorite, they remind me of Ballet dancers :)

I hope this coming week is kind to you.

Thank you for dropping in, Kimmie x

  2. I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Two months isn't a long time, so it's no wonder you are still struggling. Many people find the TToT cathartic. I hope it helped lift your spirits a bit.
Your garden looks lovely! And those windmills (we call them pinwheels) add such fun and whimsy and motion!
Gotta say, I am jealous of all of you folks who live so close to a beach!
Thanks for joining in with us this week!

    1. Hi Christine... Thank you, yes I did find TToT cathartic... I wasn't up to writing anything much today, but then remembered that I'm forever pointing my camera at something (usually things that I'm thankful for), and as TToT is a perfect meme for a picture post I decided to join in... I'm so glad I did... I doubt I would have blogged today otherwise, and it's been a welcome distraction, and yes, it has lifted my spirits...as has reading other peoples Thankful posts :)

I'm glad you liked the windmills (pinwheels), I love them, I'm hoping to add to my collection over the Summer :)

Thanks so much for dropping in, all the best to you and yours, Kimmie x

  3. I'm with Christine. I am so jealous of the beach combers. I so want to be near the water. I love the piggie and the doggie.... I used to have guinea pigs years ago... they are remarkably cuddly! So sorry about your dad... wow two months is no time at all huh? Be patient with yourself. Its normal to feel overwhelmed from time to time... Im glad you have lovely memories in your garden!

    1. Hi Ivy, thanks for hopping over.

I do feel lucky to live so close to the beach, it's a Godsend during the school Summer hols, which start next week. Iv'e lived here all my life, you'd think I'd be taking it for granted by now... but no, I'm overwhelmed by the awesomeness every time I go to the beach... it never gets old :)

Thank you for your condolences, yes, it's very early days...I'm still at the muddling through stage, one day (often, one hour) at a time... I'm grateful for the garden, and the memories.

I hope all is well with you and yours this week, all the best, Kimmie x

    1. Thanks Vicky... The garden is beautiful, my Dad & I shaped, and planted the beds together, ten years ago, and it's taken years of nurturing to get to the established stage it's at now, I'm going to miss it when we have to move. We are currently on the list for adapted housing... leaving 'home' will be a wrench... leaving the garden will be incredibly hard to bear. Still, on the bright side...we're not leaving it yet, I get to enjoy it for one more summer, at least :)

  10. Welcome to the TToT! Your list was just right!
I'm sorry about your dad. It's so nice that you have such a beautiful garden that gives you comfort and makes you think of him.
I love guinea pigs! Had them when I was young, then had two a few years ago. They were supposed to be for my kids, but they largely ignored them after the first couple of weeks, and then they were mine alone. I even got rid of the litter and used fleece for bedding, which they loved and which meant I had to do a lot of scooping of poop and washing of bedding.
I have beach envy. Total beach envy.

    1. Thank ou Dyanne, I'm glad you enjoyed the list. Yes, the garden is a great comfort to me, especially as some of the plants were planted with Dad...and since his passing, for him.

Guinea pigs are my favorite animal... I've had many over the years, the current one (Willow) is the dearest of them all. He is so interactive, characteristic, and loving. Words don't describe how much I love him :)

You're allowed beach envy... I totally get it...if it wasn't on my doorstep, I'd have beach envy too :)

  11. I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad. My mother is very elderly, and I know that the time is coming when I will need to say goodbye (for a while). I do not look forward to that day, but I do believe there is life in the hereafter and that families can be together again.

You post is beautiful. I love seeing the clouds too. When I was a little girl, I would lay on the lawn on a sunny day and gaze up at the clouds and try to discover ones that looked like animals, or some inanimate object. Your garden and the windmills are delightful.

    1. Hi Pat, Thank you for hopping over.

It's hard, isn't it, having to face that the time will come (it's always too soon IMO) when our parents won't be here anymore... my Dad, wasn't exceptionally old (74), and he was (until around 2yrs ago) exceptionally fit/healthy... we found out last July that he had an aggressive Cancer, he was given 4-6months to live...he survived 10. I wasn't ready, but I was never going to be ready.

I used to lay on the ground in the park, with my Nanny when I was a little girl, doing exactly the same as you... Happy memories :)

  15. First, I wish you peace and beautiful memories as you move forward in life through this period of grief and transition. Hang in there!
The pinwheels bring back such childhood memories for me...loved those sort of tinfoil versions from the local fair or amusement park.
    Coffee. Always.
The cloud is cool - we saw a Hershey Kiss shaped one when returning from a visit to HersheyPark once. Pretty cool.
Have a great rest of the week!

    1. Thank you, Lisa, for your kind condolences.

I've always loved windmills (pinwheels), I remember the tin foil versions too, I think, though I'm not sure, that you can still buy them in some of the seafront shops. I'll have to keep an eye out over the summer.

Thanks for dropping in... wishing you and yours a good week, Kimmie x
